Brexiteers have claimed that a mass movement against Brussels is growing rapidly across Italy. Brexit Party Chairman Richard Tice has proclaimed that Italy will be “the next big one” to leave the EU. Speaking to talkRADIO, Tice warned the EU that it must change quickly or face a dramatic collapse.
Mr Tice said: “Italy is under serious economic pressure. I think it is the next big one to go.
“These are the next ones who will likely have a growing campaign to leave.
“I don’t know how long it will take, but with the economic pressure they are under, more and more people will want to leave.
“If you go to southern Italy it looks more like a second or third world country compared to much of Europe.”

The Brexiteer added: “The poverty over there in southern Italy most people just wouldn’t believe.
“There will be increasing pressure in Italy. Who knows where they will go from there.
“Maybe the EU will respond to this pressure and say it needs to change some things, it needs to listen.”
A recent poll for Euronews showed that among voters in the EU’s Big Four Italy, Germany, France and Spain, Italians were “the most in favor of leaving the EU in five years if Brexit is seen to benefit the UK “. .
It comes as time is running out in London to secure a post-Brexit trade deal between the EU and the UK.
A UK government source said Thursday evening that prospects of a breakthrough “were fading”.
The UK has accused Brussels of adding late demands to the talks and of hardening its position under pressure from France.
The two sides must agree and ratify any deal before December 31, when the current EU-UK trade rules end.
